Laura has be practicing and studying Yoga for over 20 years. Her passion for Yoga has evolved into a mission to positively affect change in people’s lives through the practice of Yoga, both on and off the Mat.
As an attorney for the past 16 years, Yoga philosophy often guided her practice of law and interaction with
clients. In 2015, shortly after making her first pilgrimage to India, she opened the doors of Point Lookout Yoga Club, (PLYC), a space designed to Uniting Body, Mind & Community through the practice of Yoga and Mindfulness.
Since its opening, PLYC has become a community gathering place in the beautiful beachside town of Point Lookout, NY. Believing that change can be best affected on a local grassroots level, PLYC is devoted to giving back to its community and regularly supports local non-profit organizations with Karma Yoga projects to raise awareness of the needs that exist in our own backyard.
Welcoming and encouraging students of all levels, Laura teaches from the heart, providing elements of compassion, spirituality, gratitude and motivation in her classes. Inspired by the teachings of her meditation instructor, she focuses her students on the movement of energy through the body as well as our innate connection to the earth.
Laura has received specialized training in the areas of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga and Meditation, as well as instruction in teaching the aging population and students with disabilities. She is certified RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.
